Hey you… I have a secret

So it’s been a while. I know! I have some good reasons though… one, I’m tired! So if you love these articles… share them, comment, leave me some love and encouragement so I know my lack of sleep it’s not in vain. Anywho… back to my secret. I gained so much weight postpartum, I started smelling myself. True story! I’m serious, please, don’t laugh, don’t judge.

A few months ago, I noticed I was sweating more and after 12 hour shifts, I had some body odor. I usually bathe once a day, but I started to kick my game up a little. I started bathing twice a day and after working, still, I had some body odor. So I switched deodorants and even started using Lume whole body deodorant. See link below:

And to be honest, the Lume helped, but I still had some lingering odor. I was so self conscious. I was wondering if anyone else could smell me. I started using the scent boosters in my laundry. Link below:

I loved the enhanced aroma coming from my clothes but still… I was smelling myself. Do you know what it was?

I stopped breastfeeding about three weeks ago now and the smell is gone! It was the milk! I was talking to one of my friends and she experienced something similar. She chalked it to pH changes postpartum. When she stopped breastfeeding, she said the scent went away too!

So of course, I started researching. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the smells I was smelling comes from hormonal shifts! When I tell you, my flabbers were gasted. This is definitely a conversation we need to have… these uncomfortable and icky topics. Our bodies go through so much stress that there are things that we don’t account for.

So I shared this embarrassing tid bit about me so you know you’re not alone. There are so many other things I noticed postpartum. If your like me to share the rest of list, comment down below. Ta ta for now!
